Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith is the Technical Lead on Martus, and has been since development started in 2001. He is responsible for the architecture, guides the design, and has written much of the code. He is also the Technical Lead on Miradi, Adaptive Management software for environmental conversation projects, and helps with other Benetech projects.

Kevin holds a BA in Business from the University of Washington. He has worked professionally with computers since 1979, in a wide variety of organizations and domains. His experience runs from 8080 assembly language through C, C++, Java, Ruby, and others.

He is a strong advocate of Free Software (aka Open Source) and agile software development. Other interests include mentoring, and the eternal quest for simplicity. He is not related to any of the dozen Kevin Smiths listed on Wikipedia.
